Gaggia Classic

The most modified and most repaired home espresso machine in the world. Parts are cheap, the layout is simple, and the community has documented every screw.

Which version do you have?

Three generations with different boilers and valves. Check the plate on the underside.

Typical faults

  • Shots pour too fast or too slow. Often the OPV spring (15 bar from factory); a 9-bar spring is the standard fix.
  • Water drips from the group when idle. Group gasket or solenoid valve.
  • No steam, or weak steam. Steam thermostat (145 °C) or scale.
